What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is the process of manually exfoliating the skin by use of a sterile surgical scalpel. The treatment promotes cellular stimulation and results in ultra smooth, fresh and brighter looking skin. The application of make-up goes on smoother and more evenly. It is a beneficial treatment to be combined prior to peels for better penetration.
What is the Procedure Like?
The skin is first cleaned and prepped. A scalpel blade is used across the surface of the skin to gently shave the top layer of the skin, dead skin cells are removed along with very fine vellus hair from the face. A mild stimulation peel is then applied. Once the skin is cleaned and dry, conditioning products penetrate the skin more effectively.
What is Recovery Like?
Your skin may appear slightly pink in spots but fades quickly. It is generally painless with little or no downtime and can be performed frequently. You can resume your daily routine without concerns. Use of a clinical grade sunscreen is highly recommended post treatment!
